Contractual Work

Over the past four years, I have worked diligently in securing funding for research initiatives for Emporia State University and others. I have secured over 250,000 in contract work in a two-year span. All of the contracts acquired were from networking and professional relationships that have built throughout my career. All monies earned on these contracts went directly to faculty in the form of new and emerging technologies and faculty stipends to further their research initiatives in teaching and learning. Colleagues, Dr. Robert Gibson and Catherine Zoerb, were collaborators on many of these projects. Together, we completed nearly 1,200 course reviews and 21 program evaluations. Here are a few examples of contractual work I successfully obtained and completed:
Maine is IT
A 3.1 million dollar grant through the Department of Labor for the state of Maine Community College Systems. I prepared a contract through a request for proposal to review over 415 courses using the Quality Matters Assurance model. In addition, the contract was to ensure course outcomes were aligned to industry standards. This was a one-year contract with two people from my team working on the deliverables, myself and Dr. Rob Gibson. The contract was 85,000 and all work was conducted outside of normal job duties. Examples of work: Course Reviews.
University of the District of Columbia
A 2.7 million dollar grant through the Department of Labor for the University of the District of Columbia. I submitted a proposal to complete the Subject Matter Export report for their department of Nursing. The total award was45,000 and took 4 weeks. I partnered with a faculty member who served as the Subject Matter Expert and gathered information relating to the courses reviewed. I then compiled the findings in a detailed report and provided a workshop for their faculty on how to create accessible courses.
Examples of work: SME Report
Rockhurst University
I submitted a proposal to provide an Online Readiness course for Rockhurst University in Kansas City. The workshop was to be for all faculty and consist of two separate workshops, each lasting four days. After securing the contract, the work changed from not just a face-to-face workshop but an entire online course for faculty. The total was 35,000 for 6-weeks of work. I created a custom course for the faculty at Rockhurst which included training modules for all of their technologies implemented and learning management system. The workshop also included best practices in teaching and learning including accessibility recommendations.
Examples of work: Online Course Development
Grantham University
I submitted a proposal to provide an change management from one LMS to another through course development of over 500 courses. The proposal was accepted and over 500 courses were modified to a new blueprint through the implementation of a new LMS.
